Help need from Senior Members

I want to buy a full exhaust system for the balt, but don't know how I should go about doing so. I am leaning toward buying the magnaflow exhaust. Which header seems to have the most gains at the moment and on that same note, do I need to replace the downpipe and cat along with the new system. In other words, will replacing the downpipe / cat improve anything?

Uh-oh... the exhaust discussion round 26.... Run for cover if you've got a weak stomach!!!! hehe...

I don't know that anyone has tested the headers much... the shorty headers should all be pretty close to equal. ZZP is making a long tube, and WeaponR has one as well, I think it's even 2 piece for the 'balt... I'd go with the ZZP or WeaponR. The ZZP one is not out yet, there's a pic of it on their site, but it's a mistake, it's linked the their header/downpipe combo. IF you change the header, you need to change to downpipe too, that's at least as large of a restriction. ZZP has a good pic of the stock downpipe on their site as well.

I'm going to have to look into that. I really want to try out the corsa exhaust, but it is too expensive and the magnaflow sounds fine. Well, I should say that it doesn't wound bad. I guess this is the exhaust decision going around...lol

Pretty soon I'll start yelling nonsense about fluid dynamics and talking out my ass, its bound to happen. You'll see the phrase "Ya know, I really think that x.x size is too big/small for x motor... " and all hell will break loose!

I know a few peeps with the Magnaflow, good setup.

I'm getting the Dezod 2.75", should be here Tuesday so I am testing that out to see if it fits the RL, seeing that it was made to fit the cobalts and when I get it installed, it is at a place that has a dyno so I am getting it dyno'd before and after the install.

Yeah, I def want to go the route that will give me the most gains. I'm going to stick with the magnaflow and buy one of those two headers you listed and a downpipe to go with it. Now I need to decide on what pulley size to go with.

I know...I just started another war, but this time I will only watch and not intervein.
