Arrow Idea: Saturn Resource Gallery

Dont know if im original but i've had this idea for about 3 years now and want to get it off the ground.

What if you could go to a website that listed (by model) every part availiable for your car (saturns only). I find new parts every day and new sites are constantly popping up. Keeping track of them is daunting so having one site widely published for Saturn Lovers to go would seem to be the easy choice. Inside it would have a simple navigation starting with "pick your model/year". then it would list by category (engine, exhaust, interior etc) all parts from every maker (non-discrimitory). it would even list side by side price comparisons. That last point i think would force a lot of high priced monopolies out there *cough*saturnmotorsports*cough* to lower their prices to be more competitive.

To fund this site is beyond me. How do sites (like this one) usually go about getting funded for just the domain and hosting fees? Should you charge to display a certain companies products? Could you do that without being biased? Or i could go ahead and list all their products but charge them for advertisments if they so choose.

Let me hear your thoughts, i would love to spear-head this probably late fall when there is bad weather and no time to race. Flame on if you feel the need but constructive criticisms are most appreciated.

The problem w/ our cars is that there aren't a lot of alternatives. We already do something similar w/ the "supporting vendors" aspect of this site.

thanks, I see point on the vendors thing but that is only RLF supporting vendors. There are tons more out there that offer either the same products or different ones entirely. I just heard about a new one today that sells steel braided brake cables: www.jbodyperformance.com
