I am currently looking to buy one of the two, but i am unsure which to buy. I really like the ION RL but the interior isn't exactly gonna win anyone over, however, the Tiburon GT is slower only by 1sec but has a much better looking interior. Anyways, feel free to comment about this > Thanks....
both are nice cars, the RL is faster stock, buy an alpine S/C for the tiburon and be about as quick, but more torque. i've owned both and neither is better than the other interiorwise, but you'll like the practicallity of the RL much more... dent resistant panels! nicer stock wheels (moot if you plan to get new ones), better seats, and equal length half shafts (with the GT you WILL get torque steer after considerable mods)

and by the way, i've dogwalked 4.6 stangs with my RL

HAHHAHAHA First off the 4.6 is not a 280 ci its 281. Hate to break it to me?? I know all about the mazda probe and shit, u cant tell me anything about mustangs i dont know allready. where is the probe now??? I have people on my mustang forums that own both a camaro and stang and always say altho the camaro is faster the better of quality of the 2 is the stang. The camaros have chiep interiors and leak after being only a few years old. Not til 93 did the camaro come out on top. During the whole 80's the mustang was always the winner. And the chassis u speak of came out in 79 not 78. 78 was the god ugly mustang II"S. Maybe Ford doesnt put as much into the engines and puts a little more into the whole car. Thats why the sale and continue to sell. The camaros wasnt selling and neither was the firebird. I like both these cars but they werent selling and thats a fact. I like the RL. I came here to praise it and all i see it mustang bashing here and there. Ohh i supposes a RL will take a new 05 gt as well? hmm...And yeah ford does have a supercharger on their 03/03 svt...also cost less then a corvette and still can whip one with very small upgrades. Ford can make a pushrod with big cubic inches and hang with a camaro or vette anyday but they chose a newer way to make power. Remember the 351? And alot of 302;s that have been abused, yes are smoking at 90,000 miles but never seen one treated right do this or a 4.6 ever.

v6 camaros and 4.6 mustangs are a drivers race 5speed vs 5speed. auto vs auto the camaro will win. why is ther over a sec dif between a auto and 5speed mustang but only a couple tenth dif between auto and 6speed camaro? becouse ford overates there cars and can't put the power to the ground. 99-01 were first rated at 320 but the rating was dropped to 305 cause alotta owners were calling bs on the 320 rating when they were dynoing around 275 rwhp. the 98ss was rated at 305 and puts down 300+ to the wheels i'd say it underated. a 98-02 6speed camaro will run lowlow 13's to an ocasional high 12 on dr's bone stock thats basically equal the the s/c cobra that puts down about 370 at the wheels. where did all that extra power go? that shoud be good for at least a mid 12. and the only place a mustang can hang with a vette is the 1/4 mile over a hundered the vette will walk is and on a auto X the vette will walk it. vette top speed is close to 180 the cobra is 160. the cobra's got like 65/35 weight ditribution while the vette is 51/49 perfect balance. the vette has better suspension better brakes better engine/drivetrain and actually holds its value unlike any mustang. a 01 cobra is over 30k new and my buddy bought one for 17 out the door with 15k on it. you can't find a 98 vette for less than 20k in good shape. you get what you pay for . if you want a dated chassis that handles like a delta 88 and holds its value like a kia buy a mustang if you want a world class sports car buy a vette. its also been cunsumer reports best buy since the c-5 came out. when was a mustang a best buy ? NEVER!

there's a guy at camaroz28.com that ran a 14.46 at 95 in a bone stock 5speed 3800 camaro. he unbolted the exhaust and got rid of the spare tire and jack. 3.23 gears and open diff.

if someone can run that in a bone stock v6 camaro, then i'm pretty sure the redline can muster up better times than we've been seeing. nobody seems to remember that magazine times tend to not "drop the clutch", or powershift, although not great for your car, these things will get better times. next year i'm going to take it to the track, but by then i'll probobly have a bigger blower on there anyway...

There is no stock v6 camaro running mid 14's. Thats total BS. I raced a auto, prolly 98 or so when i was running 15.0 and he ran 17.6!!!!!!! I doubt he missed shift seeing as its a auto!!! There are a few guys with 3.8 mustang 5 speeds...99+ running 14.9 with small mods, i mean CAI and short throw shifter. A vette is nice, i like them alot. but u cant say they are better quality, they are not even in the same price range, and i was talking quality of the camaro, maybe u should go back and read. Thats like saying a vette is shit compared to a Ferrari. No the vette isnt shit but compared to that it is. U cant compare quality when the vette cost lots more then a stang. I am done arguing with a cavalier owner..go get your cams and TB..how much is that gonna cost just to try to equal mine?? I dont have any major mods at all really except the cams and they were 50 bucks!!! 50 bucks and dropped 2 tenths..now thats worth the money..ohh and hmmm..i wonder who has sold more cars..fords mustang or chevy's vetter..they even had 10 years advance and i bet ford has still sold more.

The interior of the RL is Incredible. It has recaro racing seats which are the most comfortable thing i have ever sat in next to a lazy boy recliner. The steering wheel rocks and everything is in a perfect place. The center IP is great. The whole car can see it. It takes 5 mins to get used to. And you can see it so much better than looking through your steering wheel. Think about it. Is is safer to look down or just glance to the side??? RL doesnt even compare to the tiburon. Make the right choice. Hell by now you might have already made your choice. Im just getting back on here after a long time and after getting kicked off saturnfans.com.

check it out he's got slips to prove it. and a 2.23speed auto cav will run a 17.8. mustangs are cheap rattle boxes and thats the facts get over it. check camaroz28.com if you really think i'm bs'n you. i usually take v6stangs by at least 2-3 cars there good for a mid 16. and the dude ran the 14.46 with no water pump belt . i know i wouldn't do that but thats what he did. a 99+ v6 mustang will hang with a 96-98 4.6. dude your cars got 215 hp maybe 225 with you mods.
