I'm pretty sure some of that info is wrong. There have been several modded corvettes running round the proving grounds.

The smaller displacement engine is correct though.

Yay for the Blue Devil!

Normally, I'd be all for this type of thing. From what I've heard, though, the SS will actually cost less to build than the current Z06 does, and they'll be marking it up a LOT more. It's supposidely a 100k+ car, and from what I've heard, the powertrain is basically a 6.2L V8 + Eaton TVS. That's way, way, way cheaper than using titanium components and hand building things. Come on GM, prove me wrong for once.....

Eh, personally I'd rather drive something that was engineered from the ground up to handle that kind of power.

And BTW, I think the Z06 and the Mallett Sky would be a good race on any level.

It's lighter, sure, faster, sure, handles a little better, too. But it's only 200 pounds or so lighter, and it's weight distribution is not nearly as good as the vettes, so it's not as nice to the driver when he mis-judges a corner.

ya, you would be better off buying the car and all the parts, then paying sombody less than 22k to build it.
