I have had a similar issue with the crankshaft position sensor. I was doing a pull from about 70-120 or so and at the top the tach started to jump all over the place but my rpms were steady. Then the entire car cut off. There was no check engine light set, but a code was set. P0340 or something near there. I cleared the code and it worked fine. It scared the hell out of me.

Had the same thing happen to me, but it kept on after 14 trips to the dealership and changing out numerous sensors and putting a new throttle body the problem was finally fixed.

So the throttle body was what ultimatly fixed it?

I have never had it happen except for that one time. I have the SMS ported TB, but I can't remember if it was before or after I got the new TB when I had the hiccup.
