Read Me Lvms Drag Strip Gm Ecotec Powered Vehicles National Meet!!!

Ok there's some of us who got this crazy idea in our heads that we should gather all the ecotec enthusiast in the country bring them to the Las Vegas Motor Speed Way Drag Strip in Las Vegas. and have some fun and race for a day or two depending on interest. This is nothing official yet its a feeler. I would hope that there are enough people who are interested in this because if there are then who knows what the possiblilitys could be. Meaning that Southern California is home to most of the big time car magazines and a ton of aftermarket manufacturers. Please believe they monitor bords like this on a daily basis. If they see that were serious about this and it actually takes place you best believe they will be there. Whats this mean to me you might ask... It mean maximum exposure to the GM ECOTEC world and possibly even more products. They see that were willing to all get together at one point in the country and spend the money to rent the track they will pay attention to us. I could sit here and write a long speech to pump you guys up but I already know that on these boards and others there's sme of the most deticated GM ECOTEC enthusiast in the country and in the world for that matter....... SO LADYS AND GENTLE MEN LETS DO THIS!!!! the times were looking at are somewhere between SEPT 4th 2007 and SEPT 14TH 2007 I'm trying to contact the strip in VEGAS to see what they can do for us as far as track RENTAL for a day or even two if this thing blows up. This can happen but we all have to pull together to make it happen. I ask if your a mod or admin on anyother ECOTEC powered vehicle board then post a link to this forum up there or more then likly ill be on your board to post the same info...

heres one for the strip http://www.lvmsstrip.com/

heres one i started on the strips forum asking about track rental info

Why do it in Sept? I bet a good 40% of RL owners are still in some form of school, even someone my age (24). So school would just be starting...

Some time in late July/early Aug would be better.

And yeah, if it all worked out, I'd go. Might actually be cool to meet up with RL owners along the way (i.e. people coming from east of Pittsburgh would most likely end up on Route 70, so we could have one long ass line of RLs and Balts and other ECOtecs heading out there).

I'd do the drive. It's only what, two days from here? Would rock.

Gotcha. I'd def do it if it was some time between mid-May and mid-August. Been to nearly every state, but not yet Vegas. I'd be willing to take a week off.

They'll all see this sooner or later. Betcha there'd be at least 6 - 8 heading out from Pittsburgh alone.

I think it'd be bad ass to have a line of 30 + Ecotecs rolling down 70. So all you guys east and north of PA, get ready! haha

Why is all the cool shit always on the western side of the states? Driving to Vegas would be cool, but in the long run some of us will hit the slots and at least one (me) would hit up the titty bars to show them my appreciation. Isn't there a GM magazine called GM High Tech or something? They did a shoot about 4 years ago in E-town NJ on the fastest LT1 and LS1 cars. I know you are going for the exposure, but i'm sure there has to be other places that are more reachable for everyone. What about Tx or one of those other freaky mid-western states?
