Splitter vs. Front Lip... which is more effective?

Splitter vs. Front lips... which one is more effective?

I tried doing a search on the subject already and can't find answers.

Which piece is aerodynamically more effective, the splitter or front lip?

Is it true that if you add more front downforce, you must compensate in the rear for balance or else the rear end will tend to kick out easier?

I'm heading towards a different direction with the EVO. I want to go all handles, no power adders except a tune and drop in filter.

That means I want to concentrate on aerodynamics, suspension, chassis stiffness and little engine movement.

All these things are going to make the EVO slow in the straights, but quick as fuck in the twisties.

I don't think either will be terribly effective at sub-100 speeds.

Splitters are proven to work under 100mph. Splitters will improve handling, I guess the real question is.. do front lips work?!

Sure. They all work.

Are you going to be doing windtunnel testing? That's really the only way to properly setup splitters or a dam.

Otherwise, you're just buying a decorative piece that, in theory, could work (like park bench wings on Civics.)

By splitters, I'm assuming you're referring to the goofy things on the lower front fenders? (more appropriately called a "fence" if i'm not mistaken.)

i've heard of EVO's adding splitters and knocking off nearly a second off their track laps.
