The sunfire will breath again next week

Well i spoke with my machine shop, cylinders are cut and honed... he will be turning the balance shaft bearings today, and the rotating mass was picked up on monday for balancing.

Should have my stuff back on friday, and next week is spring break so i hope to have her goin again by tuesday or sooner... depends on how much beer i get.

Oh, and it will be returning to the road with another couple of goodies.... I cant have her with a built motor and lookin like she did with 2 17inch crappy wheels and 2 steelies... so this is the only solution i saw fit.

Along with these, size 225/40/18.

My auto teacher gave me 2 of these tires used back in high school to burn up, and i fell in love... Never bought another set till now so hopefully they will make me happy again.

And now im on 18's BITCHES!!!! w00t.

Im gunna try to borrow my friends digi video cam and record the first startup + some vids of its performance. I cant wait to see what she will do.

Next weekend, take that down to rockville. I have to see it.

I am putting my axles on sunday, so I don't know if I feel like going out racing in my 91 Explorer Sport this weekend.

If you need any help with HP Tuners, I have done a whole bunch of cars (Including JJ's). Just PM me.

Im also adding the FMIC before it pulls out of the garage...

I was doin some math, i was getting 7psi with the stock rev limit.

5inch drive pulley driven off the cam (half the engine RPM) 1.5inch supercharger pulley

5x 3250 (half of stock redline) = 16250/1.5 = 10,833 supercharger RPMS

Now ive raised the rev limiter

5x 4000 = 20000/1.5= 13,333 RPMS... SO thats an increase of 2,500 RPMS... Im thinking thats good for another 3psi at least.

So my thought is to remove the powersteering pump, loop the lines together and have a 5.5inch or even 6inch drive pulley made, and mount it by drilling a hole through the center of the pulley and into the cam, then thread the camshaft and hold the pulley on with a bolt just like the crank pulley is held on.

If i had a 6inch drive pulley my supercharger RPMS would be at 16,000 rpms... Who knows what kind of boost that would provide me. I have a couple thoughts going through my head about adapting the stock crank pulley to drive my supercharger, but ill have to see when i get it back before i can be sure.

How are you going to route it?

Without changing the pullying, your going to get the exact same boost all the way to the old redline. I doubt you will be pushing 3 extra psi in that extra 1500 rpm because not only is the supercharger is spinning faster, the engine is breathing more up top too. Especially with the new cams, I could even see you losing boost from the added duration.

I am not sure what you are saying?

With the roots type it wouldnt matter, but you gotta remember im using a centrifugal supercharger... the higher the rpms the more efficient it gets....

I dont make any boost till like 3,000 rpms... then from 3,000 to 6,500 the boost climbs from like 2psi to 6psi hard, unlike the roots that reaches full boost and doesnt increase much.

Picture a flow chart compairing CFM to RPM of a centrifugal supercharger, now throw a horsepower curve line off of a 9,500rpm HONDA engine, and thats what you get with my blower :P

Basically i would be willing to ditch my power steering pump if it means i can get 15-20psi.

Not sure how im gunna route the intercooler piping... ill drill if i have to. But its gunna suck at first, my brother has a cheapo IC laying around with 2inch inlet and outlets.... But im going to run 2 1/4 inch charge pipes so as soon as i get a new intercooler i can just swap them out. 2 1/4inch is the same size as the supercharger outlet.

I dont think ill lose much boost just because of the extra rpm... But im not sure about gaining it, if i can break even for now ill be happy.

Im trying to find out how big the stock crank pulley is... My idea is to cut the ribbed part of my current drive pulley off, then drill mounting holes and bolt the outside of the stock crank pulley to the inside portion of the drive housing. Its hard to explain, but should work out fine.

OHHHHH, I totally forgot about the procharger... duhhhh

as for the FMIC, I would wait until you can switch it to the other side. It is such a streight shot into the motor. When you switch the blower over, you can arrance it to go dowon into the FMIC.

I am serious about Bwoody making a braket for you. This way you probably could keep your power steering.

true...

Heh if i do that im gunna have to cut the RSM pulley off, those bastards did a piss poor job of designing it... I tried removing it the other day but it wouldnt budge with any of my pullers. And im not even ABOUT to damage my 2,000 dollar vortech unit getting it off, so if i relocate... its gettin cut lol.

I was also thinking about the possibility to remove the a/c and see if the s/c will fit down there... Believe me im gunna tinker with it once i get the engine in. Before i reeinstall the blower ill try to find different ways to fit it in there.

If i can get it where the stock a/c is and keep it facing the same direction then i dont have to change any routing for the belt... But if i go with turning it around and moutning it like the procharger is on the IONs, then ill need a double sided belt and 2.0 tensioner
