anyone have this issue?

hello all,
I have a 04 RL that I bought in November it has 10,000 miles on it. I have been having issues with the service vehicle light comming on. I have taken it to Saturn 3 times now for the same issue and they keep telling me that it is a missfire in cyl. 1. I was on my way home from work today and guess what the light came on again. So this will be the 4th time I am going to take the car in to get it checked out.
They told me not to put anything lower then 93 octane. which I have not do so and the light still comes on.
I put Shell 93 in the car, I would like to know if anyone has had this happen.
This started to happen around 8,000 miles.
would like to know your thoughts on this..

Does the car do anything that makes you notice it, or it's just on all of a sudden?

What is a technical misfire? When the plug dosen't fire, or when the explosion occurs at a random time?

Also, are you aware that alot of these things had the intercooler wired wrong, resulting in no flow through the heat exchanger? Make sure that's fixed if your's is affected. If it hasn't been, that might take care of your issue. It's summer, and that air temp would be hot as hell after pushing boost for a short time even...

Could be a bad fuel injector.

Wow I'm quoting a super-mod Surprisingly enough, I had my Redline since May of 04 which means I drove mine for all of the TX summer with the intercooler wires plugged in wrong, which if its not going to detonate in a TX summer then I don't see it detonating in most any other summer. About the one thing I HAVE noticed is that last summer during a 300 mile trip, I noticed a 30 MPG average. I haven't had anything close to that this year.

All they did was tell you what the symptom was, and not fix the problem? Sounds like a doctor. Write a prescription for the symptoms, and not fix the f%#&ing problem!!!

LEMON LAW, LEMON LAW, LEMON LAW. Check and see what your state law is and casually drop that in your next conversation with them.

This just happened all of a sudden, I have said something about the miss wired to them and they told me that they have not see any miss wire. they just told me to bring it in and they will look at it.
I don't know if it has anything to do with the AC and/or when the tank is less then Half. It seems to happen when I let it get below a half tank of fuel and when I have the AC on when it is below half a tank of fuel.
the last time that I took it to Saturn they had the car for 5 days and all they told me was that they could not find anything wrong with it.
