Bigger Engine Possibility Question

Do you think it would be possible to just take out the entire engine of a 2006 Saturn Ion 3 2.4 and put in like a V6 engine with way more horsepower and all that? I kinda wanted to make it a sleeper that would surprise people hint the reason why I don't just get a Saturn Redline and make it obvious when I blow them away.

Off-topic comment - I raced a 350z the other day and I was only about 2 car lengths behind it. I thought that was something to comment on being that a 350z has around 300Hp and I have 175hp and a 4-cylinder lol!

Could you possibly tell me what the specs on an LS9 are? How much does one cost? Oh and just how possible is it?

the ls9 motor most likley costs more than your ion.

edit: and not possible to install in an ion. your best bet is to keep your motor and turbo of some sort. unless you have a lot of money to spend.

Unless you plan to trailer that bitch to the track and only run 1320's in it a V8 is a near impossibility. Ion = FWD. Not really enough room in there to squish a V8 and keep FWD. Even putting a V6 in there is nearly pointless. So many stock 4 banger configurations out there these days that make horsepower equal to or greater than many V6's. Not really worth the time or money. Keep what you have, save up your pennies and mod that one instead.

Yeah, you would have to go RWD, and totally re-build the whole car, would probably run you around 50 G's! Just get a turbo kit for it. It's a 2.4 = HPT (Horse Power Tuners) support, which is a good thing!

Someone also shoehorned a 350 in an SC1/2, convert to RWD...now that would be a sleeper.. http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f
