Bought a DOdge Journey

It cam time to replace the 93 Civic with 190k on her. Went to go get a 08 Jeep Patriot. I just wanted to see the inside of a Journey (this car is the wifes). Well it turned out she liked it a lot and we bought it. Mainly because we have a kid on the way in 3 months and it was a lot roomier then the Patriot for about $1800 more bucks.

It's just the base model with 4cyl and power package. This is the wifes car and we still have the redline. And it's still broke lol. But the oil cooler should be here this week.

for those who are interested..
http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/bm/09journey.htm

neat little cross-over, not overly fond of the dash, but it is nicer than the RL dash...the rear end lights look very mitsubushi...still has the ques of the carvan . . .

What type of mileage do you get on it? A co-worker is looking for a new vehicle but they do tons of travelling and need something with space, decently cheap and good mileage. They don't drive like a youngster, just your average person

Considering I have had it for 1 full day I have no clue on the gas mileage yet. But since I am more rural driving I am guessing 25-27mpg. I always got better then sticker MPG when it was the old ratings. And it has plenty of room I bought a electric lawn mower yesterday and just threw the box in the back and had room for groceries also. I might have been able to squeeze the box into the trunk of the ION maybe. The box would be close on the height.

if you got better than sticker w/ the old ratings you'll probably get way better than sticker w/ the new ones.

wife and i are actually looking at a journey in the next few months. If you can, please post a review of it after you've had it for a month or so and let ppl know what you like / don't like / wish for with it. thanks!

Well hit 200 miles and the check engine light came on lol.

Taking it in tommrow morning. Guessing gas mileage is about 27-30 right now. In the Operator Manual it says its 18.5gal and everywhere else it is 20.5 gal. So we drove 154 miles (had 54 when bought) and it is right below 3/4 mark. So that would be great if I can get over 25 with it.

Rather then the check engine light we really like it. Very family friendly.
