if you had a silver car none of these probs would be happening and you would also have an additional 20 whp![taking a chance guys..dont know what color his car is!}....seriously though...who is installing your axels?..could the failure be because of faulty inslallation??...about the airbox..i think its a pain in the ass too...i installed a k/n drop in so i dont have to service it/change the filter as often..it has worked for me so far...colm.

Dealership is installing the axles, and yeah - I'm driving 120 miles and having Jason (NYRM98) and his techs work on it lately becuase every time it leaves one of the two dealers down here, it's worse than when it arrived.

Well - either I'm retarded or my car has something out of place, 'cuz long screwdrivers went in at weird angles and were hard to keep in the screw heads, and it took a lot more than turning it to clear the hoses & whatnot.

Converting to SR or CA is in the works per earlier post, and should be a pretty straghtforward install - just can't do it until end of race season 'cuz I have to finish the season in DS.

And my car is Blue. Silver is worth 20 WHP true - but Blue is worth 40 AND looks better at the same time.

As far as REMOVING the air box. It's designed to be installed on the engine before it's in the car, so once it's in, it's difficult unless the engine is out
Not if you have a sawz-all like me. Got my whole stock system out of the engine bay in about 2 minutes.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks that Air box is a pain in the ass. Took me like 2 hours to do it. It really is a very stupid setup in my opion

Is it true having a short ram makes it easier to suck in water? and/or not a good idea to have when it starts getting cold and slush/snowy

You want to bitch about your air filter in an Ion? Have you tried the changing the filter in a cobalt? You need to jack the car up, remove the wheel, take out about 30 screws and fasteners (10 in reality) and pull the fender liner, take off the bottom of the air filter box and the reverse.

Seriously - it's that much different in a 'Balt? That's just - stupid. Right in there with changing a battery in a Viper GTS, lol. Did that once, never gonna do it again.

I never came back to this thread, did I? Got the drain plug out with a grabber socket, bought a new one. Interesting side note - AutoZone and the others all say they don't have the part. So I asked if they had one for a normal Ion. Nope - dealer only, same as the Redline. So I asked if they had one for a Cobalt. Nope - dealer only. Okay - how about a 2002 Cavalier 2.2 DOHC? Sure - right here, $3. LMAO She asked why I needed so many drain plugs, I said "for the record, those all use the same one". Their computer is retarded. I asked about rear brake pads and got the same thing - anyone wanting Hawk performance pads will need this info, too BTW - they said they don't have them, so asked about rear pads for a Pontiac G6 - yup, in stock, lol.

yes it is weird like that, i worked at autozone for nearly a year and a half, it seems to like to only put parts for the more popular applications on their system.
