I personally recommend the Passport 8500 X50 (I have this one) or the Valentine One. I think Bel makes a decent one too.

Yes, the Valentine and the Passport 8500 are both in the $300 range and No the Valentine is not "The Best", it's good yes! But the Passport beat it in some important areas for me. I have owned Escorts (now known as Passport) since the mid 80's (yes I'm an Ole Fart!)
