Question about my Sl2

Whenever i go to more then half throttle on my Sl2 i hear a buzz in the engine area. Its kinda quite loud. My moms 96 Sl2 which she got new back then did this as well so i wasnt too worried. I am thinking it might be the injectors. Are they loud on these cars? It doesnt sound like a valvetrain problem where as the car would run like crap, the car runs perfect. At idle or under half throttle the car is quiet as can be.I guess the injectors are just loud on these models??

on some s-series the injectors can be a bit noisy yes. some mistake them for valvetrain noise as a matter of fact.

do you hear a buzz as in possible vibration? maybe check your dogbones and TAM for excessive wear or need for replacement?

I'm assuming since it's your daily it's stock also, correct?

I dont know what either of those 2 things are on this car. LOL. I dont detect any vibration. Yes 100% bone stock. Except the resonator has been replaced with straight pipe cuz the resonator was rusted out. Thats my only "mod".

haha ok.

the dogbones are the two mounts (one under the battery tray and one under the crank pulley). the TAM is the mount that bolts to the timing chain cover on the left side of the engine. There's a fourth one under the tranny too, but you would be getting some vibration as well.

Hmm, hard to say without actually seeing the car.

look at your PCV valve and PCV hose... your hose is prolly on it's way out if it's origonal and your PCV valve might be shitting the bed... take it out and shake it and see if the thing makes a bad ticking noise

A BAD ticking noise? Don't confuse that with, "It's bad if it's ticking".

Unless of course there is some new PCV technology, cuz I didn't get the memo.

It should rattle.

It's not a matter of being good for ME. It was just a matter of clarity for mbh. Didn't want him going through 20 valves thinking they were bad.
