not hard at all. Follow the instructions. It is straight forward. Probably took me 20 minutes from gather tools to walking away after clean up.

It's really easy. IIRC, the instructions had pictures for every step as well.

Yeah it's very easy to do and has all instructions and pic's to boot! Maybe a 45 min affair total if not so mechanically inclined! Just make sure to properly mark your shifter cables!

How much of a difference does it make compared to stock?

as far as?

I love the way it shifts better but as I have said before, the biggest benefit is you can get larger styrofoam cups without punching holes in them between the shifter and ac nob.

Gives you a shorter throw and a more solid shift feeling. Which makes you scratch your head as when they designed the IRL they said it had short throws! Which it does not! Most of that solid feel is the shifter base bushings that you replace and the shorter shifter stick! But like i said if you get over aggressive on shifting you can pop a cable off! so be careful!

base bushings don't come with the hurst, but yes, they are amazing.

IMO all shifters need them. The factory rubber ones make any shifter feel like its mounted with play dough.
