cant really offer on that,
is there a large availability really that I'm just not seeing?
like is there a good chance there'll be what I want in a year and a bit?
I have a quite a bit saved up,
only thing is i'm just turning 17 now, and I still have the "N" on my license,
meaning if I got it now, insurance would kill me.
June 2014 I'll have the "N" off as well as being 18, which will save me quite a bit on insurance compared to buying it now.
That is a gorgeous redline though man,
exactly like the one that I want.
I am definitely going to be on a man hunt for a 2007 though,
in about a year. If I found a 2007 redline with ~110,000 KM on it I'd be willing to drop atleast $8500 on it.
I currently drive a 2005 ion-2 with 117,000 and love the brand so hopefully there'll be some for sale then.
I know this is probably the wrong section, but I have a question.
It is now 2013, the last year redlines were made was... 2007 correct?
If I was looking for a redline in 2014 (June or so) would i still be able to find a 2004-2007 redline, with 130,000ish km left?
ANYWHERE in canada, no limit on that I live in Nova Scotia but would travel pretty much anywhere in canada for it.
Just a feeler to see if it's worth trying to get one then.
Thanks
check cars.com you can find them all over the states. Try to stay away from the 2004 models. its up to you if you really want one but out of the cars in this platform the ion is very unique by far and reliable and if you have any problems with it the solution can be found on this forum
Good luck
They are rare and getting even more scarce these days. If you look they are around though. There are a few on ebay right now. Agree with above stay with 05-07. Depending what you are looking for, year makes a difference with what you get in it as well. 05 will have the older radio and prolly recaros. 06 will have the new radio with the AAS system maybe and prolly recaros. The 07 will have the new radio but I think they stopped putting the recaros in them. I got the 07 because personally I didnt care for the recaros. I bought the last new redline in MN. Make sure to find one with LSD and comp package you will be happier. $8500 in a year shouldnt be hard to find. Keep an eye on here too. Someone is usually looking to unload theirs.
Yeah man I got mine when I was 17 I saved up and paid cash for her I love it to deatg but time to just move on now im 19 so I had it for about 2 years they're definently a fun first car to own good luck with your search

what is wrong with the 04 redline comparing to 05-07? all I know is that there are some constructure differences like trans mount or so and no aero wing. what else then?
I think mine will be for sale about then and I live in the NE USA. I just bought another car so won't be driving it much any more unfortunately. I was going to use the time to de-mod it maybe, but I'm hoping to find somebody who likes the mods. Mine's an 04 also but then again I think my asking price is going to be out of this world. Good luck with your search!
