Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'll move it or delete or whatever is needed! So I'm looking to sell my 05 Hyundai elantra and pick up a beautiful 04 E Blue (I think that's the color name...) Ion Redline. I will post a link and if anyone can give me anything that stands out to them in the engine bay pics or if they can tell if it's the competition package or anything else that jumps out to them (problems, issues, etc.) Any and all advice is appreciated! I'll be making this deal within the next 2-3 weeks, possibly sooner if my check gets cleared soon!
On a side note, any Chicago guys here? I live in Dekalb, IL (NIU Huskie) but I'm sometimes at home in Bartlett, IL. Would love to do some cruises in this bad boy with some forum members =)
nice looking car, I don't actively look at what the redlines sell for but to give you an idea i got mine from a dealership with 68k miles for 7k out the door last February in pretty much mint shape

They didn't make comp packages in 04, so it's not one of those. 04 was the first year the redlines were jntroduced, so they did make a few changes when it comes to 05-07.
The car is obviously modded. It's got an exhaust, intake, and is lowered. More prolly but can't see well on my phone. Buying a modded car is iffy, especially with 100k+ miles. Even with how good this engine is, good chance its been beat to hell.

We're working on our own price, since I'm kind of going back and forth with my bank about WHEN I get my money (bastards...) but I'm not paying that 7 grand listed, we figured at 6k. The high mileage got me nervous at first but he assures me it's been well taken care of and I have a friend who works at a dealer and can carfax it for me as well. I just hope I'm not getting star-crossed eyes and jumping into an eventual money pit, but from what I've read on here redlines have some pretty durable engines with some longevity in them. Any other little quirks I should look for? Common little problems that spark up on these guys?
Ha well would you look at that... well that's an excellent resource =) thanks guys, and if everthing checks out ill be pretty pumped to learn the ins and outs of the car.
ya thats a members car on here, car has some good mods on it if I recall.
6,000 seems far if its nice, good shape etc.
just test drive it,make sure the suspension is good,no abnormal noises, check to see how clean the oil is,how the clutch grabs, etc
I wouldnt worry about the miles, these cars have a good stout drive train.
also make sure everything works, heat,ac,cruse,no blown speakers, stuff like that.
