GM....for the love of god please help us!

Okay, so last night I was on hand to witness a RL vs SRT race on the freeway. As expected the SRT came away with the victory. It was closer than I expected but it wasn't close if you know what I mean. After the race the cars pulled over, except the SRT, but his friend in a civic hatch did. We got to talkin and we were saying that if he'd only had the psi-fi kit or if we had the gm stage kits available....you know it would have been closer or the other way around. The civic kid more or less said "yeah but he'll be stock and you'll be modded, when he mods you'll be behind again". I wasn't embarrased by the RL losing at all, he gave it a hell of a try, but I couldn't help but feel a little cheated by our manufacturer and a little upset at the honda kid. What I'm hoping is that when GM does release the stage kits that it's not gonna be something that get's us around stock SRT levels, I want it to go beyond. I think that our stage kits should put us on pace with their stage kits (i.e. stage 1 RL=stage 1 SRT, stg2=stg2...etc.). With our poor transmission gears it means that they'd have to give us one hell of a bump in power to do it, but I think that it's still feasable. So if anyone from GM ever looks in on these boards then for God's sake give us the power to keep up with those nasty lil' skittles!!!!

Yeah I hope you guys start seeing some well powered packages soon. GM seems about like Dodge was, slow to react. You'd think they'd jump on the tuner market before the vendors. But hey to each their own. I'm sure in a short time they'll tighten you guys up though. We (skittles) have it nice now but we were ignored for a time too. I'm highly interested to see what GM decides to add into their package offerings. I heard a rumor that a centrifugal blower might be offered in one of the higher end stages. Oh well guess we'll see what happens though.

I'd rather have a twin-screw.

I hope GM isn't bullshitting about the staged packages come SEMA time, or else I'll have to look at getting a GTP.

A twin screw would kick ass, but I'm sure the price would too. If stage 1 is gonna be a reflash and a pulley like many are thinking then I'm hoping that it's gonna be one hell of a reflash. BTW, none of what was said above was in anyway meant to disrespect the SRT, was a close second to the RL in my choices. But I do have to say that I'd like to see us right up with them mod for mod. Even the kid in the civic was able to keep up with the SRT up until about 100 mph, and he's N/A with a B16 swap with intake, header, etc......basically bolt on stuff. If he can hang with a N/A mini-motor and we're blown then somethings wrong here don't ya guys think?

It's okay, I have faith that by this time next year the results should be very, very different You rock man just for given'em a try when you knew the odds were against you........and next time we pull your subs first

Lets simply face the facts that stand right this minute. GM/Saturn have steped all over this car in the tuning department via the PCM setup. It runs richer than Richy Rich, the boost is limited, the Rev Limiter is set so low that the car is pulling up on the Dyno at "red line" etc.. A couple changes to a hand full of code would work wonders with this engine. Do not be suprised with what could happen via a "simple" PCM reflash.....

dynoing a ricer is like beating off. it seems fun at the time, but theres really no point.

Bam!!! The man says it all right there. I think that we honestly have a monster under our hood that's been bound and shackled and only GM has the keys to unleash it. Pisses me off a bit I tell ya. I can almost guarantee that this was done strictly for profit as we all are most likely gonna have to buy GM's stage kits in order to realize full potential. All I gotta say is that this better be some flash and they better not charge us an arm and an ass cheek for it. We already payed the same (or very close to the same) amount for our cars as SRT owners payed for theirs, granted we knew they were not as fast when we purchased them, but it would be nice if they could get us up there at a reasonable price.

GM upgrades are going to be expensive no doubt about it.
