91+ Octane in Redline's

this might be old news but i was in the dealer ship yesterday and i was telling them i was having troubles with Throttle responce and the guy (tech)took it for a drive and asked what kind of fuel i was running i said 91 octane and him and the staff said do not run 91 or higher octane saturn does not recommend it and it is a waste and they have had some issues with redlines and 91+ octane?

has anyone else heard that?

Wrong. Don't use 91 or higher with any other Saturn. The RL's are supposed to use 91+. It's in the owner's manual. I'll look online for info as well. Give me a sec...

wow thats insane, they couldnt possibly be more wrong...

the car is meant to run on 91+

your having trouble with throtle response and they say use regular!

its right in your owners manual, "you may use regular, however performance may be affected."

That's funny. The "guy (tech)" needs to have his certifications revoked. He probably doesn't replace drain plugs either.

maybe im just seeing something thats not there, but i noticed that when i run my rl on 91 from shell, it seems to run best. if i get it from somewhere else, even though its always 91, the car seems to feel sluggish. anyone else get that?

Note to self: Self, Saturn Techs are morons who know nothing about the cars on their lots, stay away from them. End note.
