I've noticed it completely depends on where you're looking and the area around it. Lots of dealerships (including the one around here now) are surprisingly stubborn. 06's at this point you're not going to have much leeway, honestly what I would do if I wanted an 06 would be to build it online and have it delivered to your local dealership, that way you can get EXACTLY what you want.
depending on where you live you can get a comp package on the RL with a few options for roughly 23k-24k. if you can find a new 05 that's where the tightness of the dealer enters, the one around here isn't much help so I'm not a big fan of it, they're sticking at either 22k pretaxes and ish for 0% financing for 60 months, or 19.5k pretaxes and ish with no financing deal. This is a dealership 05, that has 400-500 demo miles on it,a nd it's been on there lot for a year, and they're still stuck on their damn prices. ANYWAYS to get back to the point, depends on how much of a demand they are in their area. My personal recommendation if you're 06 shopping though would be to build your own might pay a few extra bucks but you'll get exactly what YOU want

You called PH and they won't budge? Wow. They must think it looks pretty sitting out there. Least it won't rust

I'd look used, jpier. I got in mine w/ 7500 miles, loaded aside from aero wing, extended warranty, tax-title-extra crap, out the door for $16k.

Saturns take a hit new --> used. Take advantage of that.

Mine was a dealer demo. It had 170 miles on the clock when I bought it and I got it for $17K. Just shop around and you'll find one that needs a home bad enough that the dealer will give ya a break on it. These aren't the best selling cars of all time (I mean, who wants a performance Saturn? ) so use that to your advantage. Good luck.

yea I went there, and apparently that 19,500 number iw as talking about before was AFTER the incentive, so they aren't offering me crap for a deal. and yea seeing like a foot of icicles on the car was really amusing to me when I saw it. I didn't straight out say they were askin too much but that's goin to be the next step (i found a used one for 5k less than what you're asking etc etc). Greatest thing is when I went again on Saturday Gary was getting into me again about 'how people are interested in this, I'm not sure it will last the weekend, you need to buy it now' while in the meantime it's been on the lot a freaking year, yea... right....

oh and also btw if you do decide to buy an 06, don't get screwed like this guy on ebay did.

Guys claiming he owes 30k towards the 06 RL with comp package, he got major league owned by the dealership if he indeed pay that much for it.

That's when you say, "Dude...it's been here for a year."

Lol.

Can't believe they won't budge. That car won't be going anywhere for that price.

They might be able to hold off as they're part of Day, and might not need to move as much?

Still, 19.5? No way. That car's been there a year at least.

yea I was like the car's been here forever, i doubt it's going anywhere, and really for the price they're asking, i'd prefer to fork over the extra grand and just buy a brand new 06 that wouldn't have 400+ demo miles on it.

I'm guessing the Day thing as well, that's one bad part about them being part of a big dealership, not as much pressure on those cars, I somehow see them having that car on the lot for a LONG time with how little incentive they're giving. 'giving me such a great deal'. In terms of EVERY aspect, newer car come resell time, less quirks, no demo miles, etc. I'd MUCH rather fork over the extra grand for that new 06 than buy the 05 that has been sitting for a year doin nothing but harddrive demo miles.
