Thats sweet, I can remember before I had my shop and it really sucked. Now the problem I have is everyone has thier car in my shop so the cars sit outside. I guess I cant argue to much they are paying customers (at least they better be!)

It's an 84 Lumber package for about $5900! I rented a backhoe from Home Depot for $260 a day, hired a mason to help me with the blocks for $400, haven't done the concrete pad yet, it just has stone for now.

What should I put in the garage except for the gas heater?

Surely some of you would have addded something if you were to do it all over again.

LOTS of light. and paint it a light color inside.

I wish my garage was large enough to work in...I can barely fit my car in there!

PUT in radiant heat in the concreate floor before you pour. Radiant heat is way better in a shop and it will cost less to keep running in the long run. I have this in my shop and will not ever do it any other way.

The sweetest thing I have ever seen in a garage was a steel I-Beam that ran in the overhead of the garage over the hood of the vehicles. There was a dolley that ran the length of the I-Beam and could travel sideways across the beam to any location extending along the width of the garage. On the bottom of the dolley was a huge steel eye bolt with a chainfall attached to it.

That setup was SWEET if you ever plan to pull an engine... You can pull it up over the fenders and slide the dolley over, drop the engine down with the chainfall and bolt it up to an engine stand. Then wheel that bitch wherever you want in your shop.

We could do entire engine swaps inside a day... It was awesome... Wish I had it on my house now. If I ever build my own garage, you bet your ass it'll have that setup...

That's a nice one. Mine came with the house, with a Reznor gas heater already installed. The guy I bought the house from tried to take it, but he did'nt stipulate in the contract, so I got the heater.

How much will that cost for a 24x24?

Did you use a hot water heater (gas or electric) with anti-freeze in it?

What size was the heater in gallons, 20, 40, etc...

Thanks
