This is pathetic! (tC supercharged)

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...line.promo.4.*

check out that article. Gotta love how they don't mention the SS or the RL. Despite the fact that both are cheaper than what they were testing (VERY much cheaper), the same warranty (i think?), and NOTICEABLY faster.

Yea that's impressive...I think I'm going to go out and buy a tC and throw in that supercharger. RIGHT.

oh and the thing that I think is pathetic is what little performance that has for the pricetag. You can get a slightly used evo/sti for that price and have an insanely faster car.

edit: I take it back at the very end of the entire comparison they briefly mention the RL as nothing more than a statistic, still...

The thing I especially don't understand is the tC is supposed to be aimed towards the tuning/younger crowd. Bad move toyota :P

And that's crank hp/tq.

I'm sure some mods'll make em fast, but nothing to worry about.

I drove one, base, no options. Not bad, for $17k, but it didn't handle very well and felt only peppy. The Tiburon was more fun.

I see tons of tCs around, nothing special. Good car for the money, but not for me

That price is garbage on that article, if you buy a tC bone stock w/a 5speed its like $16K then you add the supercharger for like $3500 or whatever, and it brings it up to $19K something, thats not too far off from a Redlines price. Yes the tC does not have a short throw, or Recaros but it still is a nice little package for the pricetag. Used Evo 8's and STI's run about $25K+ and that means that their is a) High mileage b) someone beat the hell out of it c) it was in an accident and/or fixed. I would only buy a used factory boosted vehicle if it was dealer certified. Its only natural for someone who buys that type of vehicle to give it a run for its money

keep in mind that 4k in mods only gained them like 30 hp or whatever, 4k for the RL will get it Stage 2 (more than that in HP), and possibly twincharge maybe a bit more, but still!

I'm not able to do the online building of a scion cause I'm at work, but keep in mind they also mentioned pretty much the necessity of the tire upgrading, which that alone is probably a 1000 bucks, so that alone is going to put it at 17,000. plus leather seats and whatever else to keep it on par with the other cars in the class. but I'm not able to actually view any of this so i'm talking outta my ass for the next 10 minutes
