OIL Changed today

ok so I got some fresh oil in my engine

Always feels better on the 1st start after getting done.

I had the oil light come on a couple days ago and I was a little surprised again because I only went 3900 miles this time.

The other day I checked the oil and it was black as can be and now golden clear - nice feeling right after it gets changed.

I only went 4300 two times ago and the last time I did it earlier (before the light went on) around 3000

I guess it's my town cruising that wears the oil.

It's all about the engine revolutions

wonder if the age is setting it off quicker or something

I asked for the Full synthetic a few times and they probably think I was crazy

for asking again and again

You put the full synthetic in there right?

They listed it on my write up several times..so I guess it's in there

and They still don't really like the 6.75 quarts in our redline...

Always get the ' customer requests' more oil

You guys still using 6.75 quarts ?

Yes, we use full syntetic and 6.75 quarts. No ever do/use anything else.

If I get used to envying others those parts of myself that I am proud of will recede from me.

I drive almost 100% highway, and my light comes on around 7000 miles.

And yes, full synthetic always.

Stage II equipped.

Yup get supertech from Walmart. It is generic mobil1 synthetic made from the same plant. I never go by the light I just change mine spring and fall gets me about 3500 miles before the light even comes on.

It certainly doesn't hurt the car if you change it more often, but I'm comfortable with the light, as I have never heard of one case where someone had issues by following the oil life monitor. Plus, I think there would be serious liability involved if it did not represent an accurate change interval.

Stage II equipped.

I was hoping to go longer with my miles being i pay for this 'best of the best' kind of oil

I read and viewed the videos from Mobile 1 website and they really get you feeling good about their oil.

'
unless they are not changing my filter at the dealer ...

my redline keeps telling me to change it more frequently

nobody else out there has the light come on at around 4000 miles?

not even sure if they use mobile 1 at the chevy dealer - they never say anything other than synthetic or Full synthetic oil on the write up

I know on the dealer advertisement they say something about ACDelco dexos1 and the regular oil but both are a lot cheaper than the full

synthetic (about 40-50% more)

The manufactures advertisement for ACDelco dexos1 has an advertisement that is confusing - part of it says it's full synthetic and the next

sentence starts talking about the synthetic blend -

...

I just read a little on the Acdelco dexos1

Sounds like it was a new standard for 2011+ vehicles and still is a GM Mobile 1 oil

Anyone confirm this?

Wonder why the new cars are using the dexos1 standard and not Mobile1

or are they really the same thing?
...

update

Ok so I read up and it sounds like Mobile 1 is the same as Dexos1 - full synthetic
