I see they recommend dropping the subframe for clutch replacement

I just replaced a clutch on a coworkers SL1 without having to drop the subframe using the slide over trick.

Has anyone replaced the clutch on a Redline ion by shifting the tranny far enough into the LH wheelwell and avoid removing the subframe?

You will have to drop the subframe minimally to replace the clutch, but it is really easy to leave the engine in the bay and just take off the transmission at that point. But damn it only takes about 4 hours to pull the whole motor and transmission. Lol.
