How To: Remove Front Seats How To: Remove Front Seats

For those that like to gut their cars on track day, or just for fun... *coughTibscough*:

Tools:
1 x 15mm wrench or socket wrench

How to remove the driver's side...
First:
Unclip the Driver's side "Seatbelt Sensor..."

Step 2:
Use 15mm wrench and remove bolts...

Step 3:
Tilt seat forward and pull towards the rear of car...

Step 4:
Install milk-crate...(not really, unless youre crazy...like Superbird)

How to remove Passenger seat:
Step 1:
Use 15mm wrench and remove bolts...

Step 2:
Tilt seat forward and pull towards the rear of car...

Thats all pretty simple. I was quite surprised how easy it was to find things with the seats out of the car (like $$, earings, and stale french fries)...lol.

Here are random pics of the floor:

Dude,it is much easier to remove the seats than it is to change the oil!

Do you know what i can do if i screwed up the threads on the nut that the seat bolts go in. When i replaced my seats i forgot to tighten the passenger seat bolt and it screwed up the threads, so i cant get the bolt all the way in.

Any ideas on how to get it tight, it wont screw in all the way, so the passanger seat moves a little.

Get a large enough tap and re thread it. That's my only advice. Not sure how not tightening it can screw up the threads though

The Factory loctite was overused on some cars. I hardly got the seat belt bolts out of the rear seatbelts when installing my harness because of this. Tap and Die sets do come in handy.

Seriously? It took my like 30 sec the 1st time I removed mine to install my harness. I mean, very little effort.

I had to swap the 350 ft/pound gun for the 500 ft/pound gun to get em loose.

HOLY SHIT!!! I used an 3/8" ratchet with a 8" handle!!!!

I am going to pull up the TQ specs on in in a min, I am curious now! I can see what 'adhesives' they use too.

Just like everything else on my car, it didn't seem like the people assemblying it had a clue. WAY WAY WAY to much of whatever thread sealer/locker was on there. I broke my six point 3/8" socket with a short breaker bar.
