Well here it is for all those of you waiting for it. How I turned my side emblems into turn signals. Now I need to make one thing clear right now, there are many things in this how-to that you can do different, this is just what worked best for me with what I had on hand.

Materials Needed:
Flat Head Screw driver
Doubled Sided Trim Adhesive
2 small lights
4 In line taps for 22-18 gauge wire (AKA Squeeze Connectors)
Lots of 18 - 22 gauge wire (I think about 12' is what I used)
Solder
Red Plastic (I went to Wal-Mart and got an index insert for 99 cent)
Bath and Tub caulk
ratchet and ratchet set (sorry I did not get the sizes needed)

Step 1: Removing the Side Emblems
You will need to remove the stock emblems so just jack up the car, use the flat head screw driver to remove the pop rivets and then the ratchet to take the nut off the back side of the emblems.

Step 2: Moding the emblems

If you take a very small flat head you can pry the red plastic part out of the emblem. Now cut some of the new red plastic to fit tightly in the emblem. With the red piece in the emblem take some of the bath and tub caulk and run it along the 4 edges of the emblem. When it dries this will create a water tight, strong, seal around the plastic so it will not fall off during car washes.

Step 3: Wiring the bulb
Take the wiring you have measure out the length you need to run from the turn signal bulb to the small hole where the emblem goes. You will need two wires of this length, then saugter the bulb to the wires and repeat for the other side. Once you have connected the bulb to the wires take the in-line tapes and use them to connect a ground wire to the the black wire and the power wire to the green.

Step 4: Setting the Bulb in place
I found the easiest way to get my bulb to stay in a spot to light the emblem was to put it in the hole that held the screw for the original emblem. I ran the bulb completely though, then rap some of the double sided adhesive round the sides of the bulb and pushed in back into the hole.

Step 5: Replacing the emblem
One the caulk has dried for 24 hours cut 4 thin pieces of adhesive and place it around the board of each emblem then center it over the light bulb and place firmly onto the body panel.

Can this step be skipped. Its a little creapy and I can just imagine what the neighbors would say

I was gonna post a how-to, but I am using A4 style sidemarkers.
Very nice write up though.

A4 style? You mean the side markers off the Audi A4?

A few problems have shown up over the past month.
1. The plastic is fading to white now
2. The side emblems are light while the DTR lights are on.

I am working on solutions for both right now.
