How To: Cheap Oil Catch Can

OK this how-to was originally posted by an0malous on the shortbus but there are some who don't go over there and that is why I did one for here!

this will help keep oil form your valve/cam cover breather out of your intake b/c as you can see, they connect (my tube was oily)!

imo it looks cleaner put behind the valve cover but i would be worried about the heat from the headers.

Yeah I am keeping an eye on it. For $12 and some misc hardware I won't complain. The install was a lot easier and the filter is a lot easier to access. I will let everyone know how it works out.

yeah, i just thought for people with aftermarket headers should keep an eye out on the can. i mean if you have the stock ones the heatshield should make you not worry as much

I did this on my SL2, but on the pcv side. Here is a link to that setup:

I eventually did a second catch between the intake and cam, but never accumulated any oil in that one. The catch can on the pcv side needed to be emptied every couple of weeks at most.

I have had an oil catch can on for 20000 miles. It's plumbed into the same hose and I don't have a drop of oil in it!
