This was found courtesy of Dan (DJT) It is in a class room here at kettering.

Make pic requests here, I'll bring in my 8mp cam, this was from my cell phone.

It was beeping, and the beeping got faster. As you all know, that is the universal sign that something is going to explode.

Then I thought to myself.. If i were to defuse this.... when would I do it. At the moment, I decided I would, I waited precisely 1 second (because everyone knows that bombs ALWAYS get diffused 1 sec before detonation) then I stepped back and took the pic.

lastly dont forget this is most likely out of a cavalier so notice the there is no 3 bolts for a timing piece like there is shown on the cobalt and ion 2.2/2.0 drawing...least not that i could see...reference pic thrown in below

Edit: kinda found a pic that shows it ...look at the back of the crank in this pic...near the flywheel side

This is from alldata:

L61:

The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor is a permanent magnet generator, known as a variable reluctance sensor. The CKP sensor produces an AC voltage of different amplitude and frequency. The frequency depends on the velocity of the crankshaft. The AC voltage output depends on the crankshaft position and the battery voltage. The CKP sensor works in conjunction with a 7X reluctor wheel attached to the crankshaft. The CKP sensor produces 7 pulses for each revolution of the crankshaft. The pulse from the 10-degree notch is known as the sync pulse. The sync pulse is used to synchronize the coil firing sequence with the CKP. The CKP sensor is used for ignition timing, the fuel injector timing, misfire diagnostics and tachometer display. The CKP sensor is connected to the engine control module (ECM) by a signal circuit and a low reference circuit.

LSJ:
The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor is a permanent magnet generator known as a variable reluctance sensor. The CKP sensor produces an AC voltage of varying amplitude and frequency. The frequency depends on the velocity of the crankshaft. The AC output depends on the crankshaft position and the battery voltage. The CKP sensor works in conjunction with a 58-tooth reluctor wheel attached to the crankshaft. As each reluctor wheel tooth rotates past the CKP sensor, the resulting change in the magnetic field creates an ON/OFF pulse 58 times per crankshaft revolution. The PCM processes the pulses to create a pattern that enables the PCM to determine the crankshaft position. The PCM can synchronize the ignition timing, the fuel injector timing, and the spark knock control based on the CKP sensor and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor inputs. The CKP sensor is also used to detect misfire and for tachometer display. The PCM learns the variations between all 58 teeth under different speed and load conditions to correctly detect misfires. The CKP sensor circuits consist of a signal circuit and a low reference circuit. The two wires are twisted together to prevent electromagnetic interference on the CKP sensor circuits.

I cant find the pic i used to have of how the rings attack but it should be just 3 bolts equally spaced meaning a lsj ring should bolt right to a l61 cobalt crankshaft
