Video: My First Track Run. Cat-back only...

I made it to the track a couple of weeks ago to run for my first time ever. Overall, I was pretty pleased...the launch wasn't anything spectacular, I think I can stick a 14.3 if I got my 60' down a bit.

Special thanks to Jimmy (Mercury) for the video!

That was my 4th/last/best run of the night, and went as follows:

60' - 2.462
1/4 - 14.475
mph - 99.69

What I was REALLY surprised about though was my 3rd run...

60' - 2.552
1/4 - 14.512
mph - 100.24

For a damn near stock (only a cat-back) Redline to trap at over 100mph seemed kinda weird...anybody have any input on that? Didn't do anything special...just drove in and raced...completely full tank of gas, didn't lower the tire pressure or anything.

Oh well, let me know what you guys think.

pretty impressive. what size exhaust do you have? that may be the reason for a decent trap speed. That's not too far off of stock numbers though.

I have a 2.5" Cat-back. I wasn't sure if the exhaust would make THAT big of a difference when it comes to trap speeds.

Yeahhhh I know. I didn't have a single launch that night that didn't bog down.

I mean I was pretty satisfied since it was my first time ever running ANY car...

Any suggestions on getting the 60' down? I was launching around 1500-1600, should I inch that up just a tad more?

reaction time doesn't effect your ET's, it just says how fast from the green light till you got off the line, but the time doesn't start on the 1/4 ET until you move.

As for getting lower 60's, lower your tire pressure for one. That alone will help chop some time off that 2.5 60'
