The track wasn't sticky. Some 13.7s are coming on a good track day for sure.

I've never owned a car capable of smoking tires

Actually if the clutch was a bit better I'd shift in 2nd to smoke em during the burnout. The tires were too cold and it showed on the 60 foot.

The SP9000 really like a good little burnout.

To give you guys an idea about the track conditions. Here's a stock Cobalt SS/SC (black) and I think the blue was stage II.

Oui? No 'We' are not French. We're American, that's cuz you're in America - Ricky Bobby.
Doesn't this put 2 of our faster RL's outside America? Isn't BD from the up north as well?

Great times Lancer. Once again. I see faster in your future.

Thanks man. My very 1st run at the track was a 13.9 @ 103 mph. I also never let the car cool down.

I wouldn't really consider what you are doing a burn out. Burnouts are more like 5+ seconds of spinning and result in smoke (hence the term) like what you see from cars with slicks. Doing that on street tires will make your tires oily/greasy and does nothing but cost you extra money.

The quick little spin you are doing (a few rotations) is just enough to clean the tires of any debris that might be on them while still getting them slightly warmed up.

But the SP9000 (like any other street tires) do not like burnouts, but it certainly shows that they do better heated up and cleaned off.

I'll agree with you that they will most likely not like a long burnout but they like a small burnout where there some smoke. In my vids there is barely any smoke, the car kept creeping forward and the officials at the track hate it when you go over the line and have to backup so I couldn't get them warm enough.
