?

were both cars stock? i know the cobalt is a little lighter is that the difference? It seems the cobalt pulled hard at the end?

I have 3" exhaust thats it and 19,600 miles. Anyone ever move the bypass canister down. Mine was up pretty high and i moved it all the way down today.

the cobalt also didn't have a passenger... thats an extra 200lbs... which is right about the difference

I think the passengers made a difference, also I think he short shift the gears, and You need a better take off, try not to spin the tires, which I know is not hard to do, but if you improve those I am sure you can take him.

So your assuming my wife is 200lbs????

Actually she is only 138lbs but she had her purse(bag) and a couple books for the class she is teaching. So it was up there around 170ish extra weght.

I actually got the jump on him at the start put he pulled on me all the way through. And i think i short shifted just a little.

Cobalt is a little heavier, and has larger wheels...

I havent noticed a difference in performance at all after putting on the cobalt wheels. The cobalt wheels and tires were also only 4 LBS heavier per wheel. They hook up real nice though.

It's not so much the weight, as the distribution of weight around the outer diameter of the tire. As you move away from the center of a spinning object, it requires more power to turn at the same speed. So even if the wheels were the same weight, it's a negative based on conservation of angular momentum.
