Hmmm Red Line in the 11s.... not yet. That engine was a good lesson in not going cheap at the last moment. I was laid off and on limited funds, so when my used BRODIX heads came complete with valves and springs, I decided to just use the circle track springs and not new ones for the new COMP CAMS camshaft. I broke the cam in to specs, but the wrong spring pressure & 7500-8000 RPM ate the lobes off the camshaft one pass at a time. It was a 10.50 engine that was to be de-tuned to run IHRA 10.90 Hot Rod Class and it started out on track, but started to slow down each run until it would only hit the 12s. I pulled the engine apart and found the damage. The engine is in my pole barn still and awaits the day to be re-born.
