Eh, only around 8 months back. LOL!

Oh..uh...I stand corrected. OK, so most everybody didn't believe that press release when it came out, 'cuz we'd been hearing rumors of it getting the turbo anyways, lol. So, hopefully Saturnfans price for SRL will be high by a thousand or two.

I'm still hoping for the V6, lol. If it's the LNF (LSN? both are still being quoted) EcoTec, I'll actually have won the argument wherein it was made clear to me that it was going to be a V6, I was of the opinion that a turbo 4 made more sense. But "they" were very clear that it was a 270 hp DOHC 3.6 liter V6 that was in the plans at that point....

"Sally" - 2005 Ion Redline Comp Pack - no significant mods yet - SCCA dark horse, DS is the new GS!

"Kinny" - 1996 SL2, almost 254k miles, lots of annoying issues but WON'T FREAKIN' DIE!

when are you hoping for this???? The SRL has already been finalized, etc etc, there will be no v6...?

If you go WAAY back to the begining of this thread, you'll see that it's not "always" been finalized for a forced induction 4 banger. Myself and one or two others were made privey to the V6 plan back in - what, like mid 2003? Plans change, we'll see - but the V6 "rumor" has been around since the idea of a Sky RL has been. When they gave the Sky the nod and showed the Vauxhall concept car, speculation about the RL version followed by about 5 minutes, lol. It was immediately assumed it would have the LSJ since the new turbo DI motor hadn't been leaked yet, but a few of us heard about teh V6 from sources who - well, let's just say they should know, lol!

Well the 3.6 DOHC VVT (LY7) will be the "upgraded" AURA engine, with no plans to be put into the Sky at this time AFAIK. Recently had an "up close and personal" with the Aura- looks like Saturn FINALLY has a decent mid-size platform to work with. I like it, in fact I like it a LOT!
They will be assembling the first full production units in July and dealers should see them in late August.
Now all they need to do is get the word out!

Wop

PS> It's LNF

I guess your new to the whole forum thing, but try posting in the ION EL sections. But anyways welcome to the boards. Can go wrong with stage kits from GM, keep your warranty and plenty of power. Or just a Cold air intake to get the Supercharger screaming
