Currently there is no Saturn Sky Redline ("currently")

The GXP is an upgrade for the Solstice (Turbo)

The Solstice was first built a full year in advance before the the Sky and they Both go down the same assembly line.

:shakes head: Check your history man. Saturn has been working the SKY concept for 4 or 5 years now. About a year and a half ago Pontiac decided to jump on the bandwagon and produce their own version as well. Look back far enough, the SKY has always been a Saturn car first. GM just wanted to put the Pontiac version on the streets first.

Yeaaa...the Solstice has been a concept long before they ever thought about making a Saturn version of it. And trust what ah1 has to say. If anyone inside GM would know what is going on with these types of cars, he would be the man to know.

Solstice is a nice looking ride! Why does GM insist on having so many dopplegangers? Wouldnt having 2 of the same car's on diff brands under the same umbrella hurt sales? Kind of like the VW Phaeton & Audi A8.

What company dosen't now a days? You're driving a slightly modified Maxima. The Acura/Honda crossovers are everywhere. Infinity - Nissan anyone? Audi - VW, etc, etc, etc...

Elaborate for us. The Sky and Solstice were both unveiled at the 2002 Autoshow circuit, and I've done quite a bit of checking online for this info, as well as being at the 2002 Chicago Autoshow, and everyone since 1998. The Solstice was unveiled at the 2002 Detroit Autoshow, and the Sky was at the 2002 Chicago Autoshow. So yes, the Solstice was debuted first, but it was by a couple of weeks.

X2
At least in this particular case they managed to keep the interior and exterior styling completely different to maintain a smidgeon individuality.

Almost anyone you talk to greatly prefers one over the other
Me? I wish I could get the Sky with the Solstice interior and gages

yup I agree with you there, it's a very split preference because they're VERY different looking cars. Now as long as GM doesn't go ahead and make like a 3rd/4th/etc they'll be alright....
I truly think these things will fly off the shelf, though the next quesiton is if my little nit picky things end up causin sp00ner to get in an accident in his Sky

Today I turned down a Ferrari due to the rearview mirror being too skinny!
