Wow...someone is a couple months behind on guessing what it is. And here is the Holden Astra SRi...http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/...?modelid=26009

Still, from what I hear, not what we'll be seeing. Sorry.

However, the Holden Commodore is what we can expect to see as the new Pontiac Grand Prix, which would be freaking sick because in Australia they have the LS2 in it 400hp

Sorry, never posted on here before. Didn't mean to be 'late' to the party. Well, if Saturn is importing the Astra starting in mid-'07, what, if not the OPC, will be the Redline version? Also, due to emissions we probably won't be getting the 240hp version, but I never said we were. I only stated what the Euro version puts out. One can always dream, eh?

The redline won't be a slouch, but not 240hp.

Which country is the OPC marketed in? In the UK they have the VXR which is a 240hp 2.0L

Oh and BTW, welcome to the forums! You should start a thread introducing yourself.

Nice avatar also.

The OPC is in Germany, France, Belgium, etc., while the VXR is England and Ireland.

Thank you for the welcome, btw.

No tweaking at all this time. No more polymer body panels either. In fact no more Spring Hill, Tn. assembly plant, at least not for the ION replacement to be called "ASTRA" as in its German twin, OPEL ASTRA and UK cuz the VAUXHAL ASTRA.

The European models are available in four body types. A very slick looking 3 dr. sport hatchback coupe. A family oriented 5 dr. hatchback sedan, a neat looking station wagon and a steel roof convertible, "twin top." We assume the REDLINE will be available in the 3 dr. sport hatchback. very good photos are here on "SATURN 69" posting.

The first first Astras Will be imported from Europe until the North American assembly facility is up and running. It is not known at this time, which bodystyles will be available for the USA/Canada market. SATURN plans to sell 80,000 to 100.000 ASTRAS per year in this market.

An innovative new sub compact called the CORSA in Europe, desinged to compete head on with the new generation sub compacts from TOYOTA, HONDA and NISSAN will follow the Astra line in several years. ps; the ASTRA will be a 2008 model while the redline will probably be a 2009

^From what I have heard and from other people that work at GM, I'm pretty sure Spring Hill is where they are going to make the Cobalt when the "Astra" is made here...Cobalt production is being moved, not the ION replacement
