The squeaks in your dash.......

I had several squeaks in my dash. In fact, it sounded like a family of freakin' mice lived in there.

Yesterday, I took the trim piece surrounding the radio, A/C controls etc. off to paint it. This morning, when driving my daughter to school, I noticed that all the dash squeaking was gone. Apparently, the metal clips they use on that thing are rubbing on the plastic making the noise. That's my best hypothesis anyhow.

So now for my question. When I get done painting the piece and get ready to re-install it, is there anything I can do to stop the squeaking? ie. put a thin piece of tape on the clips or something of that nature?

You could use black electrical tape on the dash, just put it over/around the places the the trim snaps into the dash, cover as much, but not all, of the holes you can. I had a '00 Dodge Dakota that did the same thing, electrical tape fixed it right up.....

I was thinkig of using electrical tape. Thanks. I'll be sure and do that.
