I think I remember reading somewhere on here that they're also going to put a bigger supercharger or a turbo on em. At least that's what I heard HERE, and it might be the 07s or so I'm thinking of. No telling how well the resell of the Ion Red Lines will be in a few years. I know as of right now a used 04 is going for only 12K or so based on KBB. Who knows though, too many factors to know how well our cars will hold up.

on kbb you reading it as the ion 3qc i was told you can add extra b/c of the s/c and evrythin. but i bought mine in CO last month for 14.6 and that was with 12000 on it and it was fully loaded.

The reason there would be a bigger s/c on the 07 is because our beloved redline is going to be metal in 07', they will no longer be made in plastic and if I'm not mistaken the ion line is done after the 07 or 08 year?

would we be able to take the s/c off of the 07 and use it on the 04/05?? wouldnt that bring quite a bit more hp/tq/and psi into the run but the main thing is if we did could the motor handle it?

you guys are getting ahead of yourselves. i've yet to hear anything on a new drivetrain (e.g., bigger blower) from anywhere.

don't hold your breath. the possibility of a turbo isn't far fetched though as now most sources are pointing towards a turbo solstice/sky for the performance model. i don't think it'll receive any major changes other than possible staged upgrades until after the ion is scratched.

then we'll (hopefully) be seeing a high power competitor to the evo/neon replacement if GM doesn't scrap the idea of high powered 4cyls.

Like Vita said, chance are you are not going to see any MAJOR changes like that. The next blower up would be the M90, and that is REAL big for our cars. The one that's on it now is oversized to some degree.

A turbo wouldn't be impossible, since the Saab 9-3 comes in that form, but I wouldn't count on it in the Redline. You might see power increases, better cams, stuff like that, being done to the current platform/engine. I just don't think you're gonna see BIG changes like that. GM gets some GOOD deals from Eaton on the blowers, I think they choose the blower over the turbo for a few reasons, who knows. I just wouldn't count on any changes that are going to require an entire rework of the car from what it is now. Not for several years, if the line were around that long.

just a little off topic ..... well maybe not but i dunno could our engines handle having a turbo & s/c, i have a hard time really beliving that a 4 cyl could handle both .... sorry a complete stock engine.

Muhahahahaha... the twincharging debate.... Boost is boost... That's all I'll say about it. The pistons don't care if it's 20psi from a blower, turbo or combination. You can debate the economy and practicality of it, but the Minis running around with twinchargers aren't listening to that point of view.

Where did that comment even come from? Now that I look back, there was no mention of twincharging....

On this note, you can just get an FM transmitter for the iPod and tune your radio to it and there ya go, iPod for your car (if you are really close to another car you can actually do it for that car too..were testing to see if it'll overpower a radio station or at least distort it..could be fun).
