so far I am happy with the car. Its my attitude of I cant lose that drives me. The torque brace was the best mod so far but that didnt add any power just made it managable. The exhaust was a differnce with the header and all. For all of you that will leave it stock thats great but its only a matter of time.

I looked at WRX's & the SRT but something just was'nt there for me. Then I drove the RL & loved it. Yes it's great stock, but I have to take it just a little further, nothing too much just I/E for now & some visuals. But if you want to keep it bone stock... that's cool too.

No normal car is EVER perfect from the factory. By normal car, I mean something that's not an exotic or ultra-rare.

I don't think I'll ever be able to own a car without modding it at least slightly.

My first car was a 98 Cavalier RS. Changed the corner lamps, debadged it, and got a Borla catback.

Next was the Camaro... the mod list is rather extensive.

Now Katie's Redline is here, and it's the new toy. Mods so far: !airbox, Progress lowering springs, and goofyguy's brace (coming soon).

keeping your car stock is cool, but it seems to me that if someone were to make there way here, they're less likely to keep the car stock. only an observation. modifying your car is the reason forums like this have become so popular. if you want to discuss common problems, edmunds.com is a great place for that...

me i'm going balls to the walls after my wedding.

If nothing else, get the K&N intake, or cut your airbox, or something. Once you do, the whine of the supercharger is amazing, it's just getting what you paid for to me. I couldn't believe how loud it is now, it's so fun...

Hey dude,
What kind of paint did you use for your calipers? Got any pictures?

I, too, agree that the car is great stock. I'm not looking to do any crazy performance mods right now. I don't race so I don't need my car to do a 12 sec 1/4 mile. However, since i'm in my car everyday and I look at it everyday I like to do visual things, like the gauges i'm working on or painting the calipers. Nothing too drastic. I also like to do sound modifications. I'm in the car for a 40 mile commute daily so I need to have some great sound coming out of it. I guess it's just like any other hobby. Some people like to buy old cars and fix them up and some people like to fix up their new cars even more.......to each his own I guess

Beware... don't believe your marriage will be any different (it won't), pick your battles wisely (you won't have enough energy or stamina to fight them all), and never say you weren't forewarned!

PS: Heartiest congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!

thank you. i agree, it will be a battle, but i'll do it, no matter what it takes (twincharge or twin-screw swap). there are no ifs ands or buts about it. she knows cars are pretty much my only hobby, so if i save from what i'm allocated to do such things, it's all up to me to do so.

but i do heed your warnings
