Tire Prices

Nice thread!!!

What other tires has anyone been playing on? The stock tires suck in the snow, so i was forced to buy new tires immediately since it snowed like 6 inches the day before i bought my RL. So this is what I got:

http://www.mastercrafttires.com/us/e...ame=Avenger+HP

They are Mastercraft Avenger HP tires made by Cooper Tires. I picked these up for $86 a piece at a local performance/detailing shop, they are Mud & Snow rated, and so far, i seem to like them. They are a little harder than the stock Dunlop Sport SP 9000, but still have pushed them hard with no difference than the OE tires. Just something to look at.

I just ordered Falken Azenis Sports in 225/45-17 from www.tires.com (Discount Tire) for $109 each. Other tires I recommend, as a long-time tire and wheels guy and suspension specialist, is the Dunlop FM901 or Yokohama AVS Sport.

You guys are burning though your tires already? How many miles? I am running a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2's for the winter (same size as OEM) with a set of aftermarket rims meant for a SAAB 93 (they fit and were cheap). They work well for those snowy Michigan days.

I'm selling the factory Dunlops for $350 with less than 1000 miles on them if someone wants 'em.

Tire wear

I just needed to get snow tires. I only have 3 days on the OE tires and 7 days on the Avenger HP tires.

No, my tires are great, but I want something vastly more agressive and stickier than the OE Dunlops. I won a karaoke contest, so it's a free $750, so my wife doesn't mind me getting new tires without budgeting for them...

Here's the tires I'm getting:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...43&rd=17&ar=45

I'll sell the OE Dunlops on ebay.

Nothing new with me! I did the smart thing and gave my wife the first $200 right on the spot...

I have another contest this Saturday...first prize is $500 and a Dale Earnhart, Jr authographed leather Budweiser jacket - if I win, the jacket will go on ebay, and the $500 may go into a header and intake and high-flow cat.
