2007 redline? No recaros?

Taken from another saturn site...apparently in the 2007 redline (such a car exists?)...your fantastic recaros have been replaced by factory knockoffs.

"Deletion: RECARO seats on ION Red Line.
New: (192) Black leather-appointed seats and the passenger sensing system are now standard on ION Red Line."

Anyone hear anything about this?

Yep, it's old news. There have been more than a couple threads with this info. It's too bad they are removing them, they really set off the interior and are very usable seats. The perfect blend between performance and comfort.

Another thread on this somewhere...
Recaro does not offer a seat compliant with the new Passenger/Occupant Detection System, mandatory as of Sept 1 2007.

I honestly thought this was the reason.

Thats a bullshit reason. GM makes crazy ass concepts and they can't find a fix to a seat occupation sensor.

I'm sure it's a lot cheaper to have Leer of JCI make them seats with the sensor, then buying already pricy racaros, and the retrofitting them. TONS cheaper im sure, especially on the small scale RL's are made

whaaa?? it's not a 'fix' for GM, Recaro themselves have to offer it I have a feeling. I'm sure there's a trademark reason or something like that, I highly doubt they threw it away that easily. Recaro probably had to come up with something, and didn't, so GM had to toss it.

That and probaby to save a few bucks

i'm thinking that small scale thing as well, although I'm curious if it's really THAT much cheaper.... since the whole fact 'Recaro' is displayed prominently, obviously Recaro is effectively getting some 'advertising' out of it.

The 'caros are cool, but a decent black leather is ok too.
