Don't do what I did

So last weekend I took advantage of the somewhat nice weather and washed my car in the driveway, this being the first time I did it right outside the garage since I bought the Redline and not having to worry about water freezing on the driveway and all, as I had been using a help-youself car wash a few blocks away.

After I finished, I simply put the car into the garrage and parked it. You know that part in your owners manual where they say you should drive your car around and use the brakes a little and dry them off before parking, there is a good reason behind that. My rear brakes literally rusted shut when I tried to drive it yesterday, it was as if the parking brakes were on, I had to rev up to "snap" out of it. Scary indeed, hopefully the transmission lived up to their standard and held up OK. So far, I haven't felt anything different.

Anyway, if you already know this or never wash your car, then call me a fool, otherwise, let this be a lesson to everyone else.

I'm lucky that I've never had this happen to me, as I usually wash my car and then don't drive it until the next day (no garage for me. ), but I'll have to be sure to drive around and dry them off in the future. I just put new pads and rotors on the front, and the conversion on the back (used to have drums) is all brand new, calipers rotors and everything.

Off topic - woohoo! I'm a senior member now!
