Hot weather sucks!

My car seems alot slower says the butt dyno. I blame this dam hot weather. These last few weeks have been terrible here in the tampa area and im forced to use the AC. That with the heat makes for a sloppy throttle feel... frustraiting! I think im going to look into that intercooler water sprayer or fan switch. Does intercepter show intake temp? Im thinking of getting one of those too.

Here in St. George, UT we hit temps up to 115 during the summer. I notice a big difference in performance when it is hot. When the air intake temp is 110 the air coming out of the intercooler is around 140. The intercooler does a great job at cooling, but there is still a performance loss. I would say DEFINITLEY buy an Interceptor. Very helpful.

Lightbulb

Add Redline Water Wetter to the radiator and intercooler as it will help the efficiency in both of them resulting in about a 10 degree temp drop. Also swapping in a smaller pulley will up the performance if you have a near stock car. Going from stock pulley to a 3" pulley made my the car feel like it is running in 50 degree air temps when it is 85 degrees outside. Intercooler water sprayer will help, adding a tranny cooler core in the intercooler system with it mounted out in front will help and up the intercooler system capacity which helps maintain the coolant temp rather than it climbing higher so fast when you are sit. Basically anything you do to add more intercooler coolant (another IC radiator; tranny cooler core) will help keep temps down. Go find a large truck tranny cooler in the junkyard that has large inlet & outlet tubes and plumb it into the IC system.
