ECU reflash

Took my car in yesterday for brakes & the reflash, when you guys had the reflash done, did anyone ask what type of gas you were putting in, if so why?

Just guessing but I would say they wanted to know the octane since the redline should run on 91 or better.

No they didn't ask. I run mine on 93 only but the when the sales guy who sold me my RL went to fill it up for me, he put 87 in it. No shit. I told him I wanted 93 but he said, "It runs just fine on 87". I was a bit perturbed about that.

I would be too. I always thought it was a rule of thumb that if you're using forced induction you should use a higher grade octane fuel to prevent detonation.

Does anyone know when this supposed version 3.0 is going to be out!?! I've only gotten one flash done on my ECU and that was back in the beginning of FEB.

I am waiting for 3.0 to come out so I dont have to make two trips to the dealership.

They knew better than to ask me....

On a side note, I stopped in yesterday to see my salesman Joe about something and it was funny cause another salesman asked me if i was the kid that 'scared the crap out of Joe during the test drive?' That's great! We went through Pittsburgh suburbs at rush hour, and i wasn't about to sit in traffic during my test drive, so we did a little traffic weaving and a small race to a singe lane merge point with an RSX (not type S). Joe was cool with it. he's only 24yrs old, and he said it was nice to finally see someone get in one of those cars and try it out rather than just putt around town in it and then ask what the big deal is with the car. The salesman told me he went in their lounge for a drink of water when we got back and he swears Joe's knuckles were still white from holding on!

Well I'm going to go over to the dealer today & tell the service guy that normally I use premium but on the last fillup(just before I took it in) I dumped in some mid-grade. But I don't use anything other than BP or Shell V-Power.

Well I got the car back yesterday, and yes it does seem smoother & faster, but then I could be readjusting from the loaner I was driving. But definately smoother.
