Redline's anonymity

On my way to work today I started to about the fact that Saturn didn't sell the projected 5000 04's they had hoped for. I was at a stoplight and as usual I saw people in various BMWs, Acuras, and other car makes. As they drove past the intersection where I was I noticed a few would do a double take in my direction as in, "what kind of car was that?". Not to mention that the blue hue of my car is rather unique as well. As I pulled into the next intersection (I seem to hit ALL the red-lights for some reason) I saw a new generation Grey Mustang driving into the intersection. I was a couple of cars back waiting for the light but hardly noticed anyone doing a double take on that Mustang. Next, the funniest thing just happened, about 5 cars AFTER the grey mustang crossed the intersection, ANOTHER grey mustang crossed the intersection and I just thought to myself, "sheesh I'm already getting tired of seeing so many of them on the road". I had a grin on my face knowing that my car has been on the road for 10 months and people still do double-takes when they see my car.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I think Saturn's loss is our gain. I think as time passes and if the Redline proves durable it may be one of those cars that we look back on and say, "Why people didn't buy these things I'll never know?!?!?!" Kinda makes you see why the F-bodies didn't last much, not enough corporate backing.........

Man, I totally agree with you. I thought about that very same thing. When I would drive my RL around, that would happen to me, the double-takes, I mean. It is quite interesting, isn't it?

thats one reason i love the car so much.

the other day i had some friends from back home, car friends, call me up sayin "we saw another redline, we saw another redline!!" and it was in a town like 30 minutes away. now ive had my car since october, so that shows u how rare they are. haha.

i love being the first and only person in my town to have the car.

I have yet to see another one on the road. Once, I thought I saw one so I did a U-turn and caught up. Turns out it was just a black Ion 3 Sport with an Aero Wing on it.

Hell, it's rare I see another regular Quad Coupe even. I see the four door Sedans all the time though.

Considering they are only 5,000 made a year, compared to the some 150,000 F-150 sold each year, that will give you an idea just how small a population we are dealing with here. Afterall Barry and sons have managed to skew the stats even more by concentrating all the Red Lines in one household.

PS I have seen only one other in Metro DC area. Ever.

I've only seen 2 others, 1 in Naperville & 1 in LaSalle county, and that one's been wrecked.

The other day I seen my 1st redline (other than mine) on the road. I couldn't believe it. Then I realized it was the salsman I bought my car from. When I bought mine we were the only 2 sold in this area. I don't know if they have sold anymore yet. It's cool having a car that's not all over the place.

I seen another RL for the first time on the road Sunday night. I damn near ran off the road in amazement. It was in Lakeville and was silver with the big wing on it.

Wonder if it's anyone here????

I've seen 3 other Redlines. Silver, black and electric blue all with small wings. Not sure if they are on this board or not. All spotted in the Great Lakes Mall area.

But its still awesome to have people do a doubletake when they see my car...whether it be at an intersection or as I'm passing 'em

I have seen the only other RL in my city (woohoo for 2 in a city). I was at work, talking to some buddies about my car looking at it (through the window), when who should pull into the IGA parking lot...THE OTHER FUCKING RL...I was blown away, both of them in the same parking lot ...I almost fell over..sadly I got to busy to find the guy .
