drop in air filters

question on the air filters. i just bought a drop in air filter for my 06 RL. it is a k&n. but i had to by it for a 2005. is thier a difference in the filters?

no diff dont worrie gl on getting the top of the lid off

Just remove the whole intake tubing, get a small (short) screw driver and you will have to twist it as you pull it up. Just move around the radiator hose (very plyable, don't worry about damaging it or taking it off. There is also a hard rubber line laying over it and it can be pretty difficult. Once you do it the first time though, it goes five times faster the next.

Buy a $2500.00 snap-on scanner so you can reset the code. Welcome to modding your car.lol. J/K. You shouldn't have any problems at all with the filter.

or go to Walmart and buy one for $70 that does the same thing.

This is just a drop in filter, not an entire intake. I doubt there will be a problem with codes like with the KN CAI.

i got INSTANT LIMP MODE

2 codes lol, after the reset, the car was great.

im guessing it takes the air badly at first then i guess the car got used to it. no probs at all.

Cut the whole intake off. I installed a new cone filter yesterday and today the rest of the system comes out.
