I'm back...sort of.

Hey guys. I used to post while back, about 8 months ago, until i bought a '02 Z28. Well i could no longer afford that car. Gas, payments, and insurance were killing me. I loved that car it was my dream car. But the whole time i had it i kept thinking about my Redline.
Well, yesterday i did what i thought i really would never do. I agreed to sell my Camaro and i bought an '06 Cobalt SS/SC. I couldn't say no. They took $1000 off sticker and gave me 0% financing.
It's a black performance package with a sunroof. I gotta say it's much nicer than the Redline that i used to have. I love the interior and the exterior looks pretty good too. lol. I really like the stock eighteens but i don't think i'm really digging the Aero Wing Spoiler so i think that's coming off and going up for sale.

I have a few questions:
Since i was dumb and never really broke in the redline properly and i want to do it right this time; how many miles should i break it in for?
Where can i get the Stage Kits the cheapest? Also, do they void the warranty if i install them myself?
What's a '06 SS/SC putting down to the front wheels stock?

Well it feels good to be back in one of these cars and i look forward to the modding process. I'll get some pics up soon. Later, guys.

brake in do however you want, just don't cruise at one speed/rpm, and don't hit the redline (as for the method). and I think people are saying 500 miles for breakin, personally I think I'd probably do more, but that's me.

and i think paceperformance still has the cheapest price unless someone else has found better.

and the SS puts down the same as the RL, assuming you had like an 05, 205-210 wheels is expected

Arnt't the 06's putting down more power than that? I know not many 06's RL's have been to the dyno (myself included) but a lot od SS's and ther are putting down near 230ish! Mine feels like that too. Mine pulls a lot harder than the 2004 and the 2005 IRL's I have driven. Maybe it's just me, maybe mines is a factory freak, but I know that the 06's SS's are putting down some big numbers as far as stock goes.

eh i'd only believe the dynos of people's cars i knew or were run soon after a RL or the such.

you choose the right dyno and whatnot, you'll eventually get a number that 'you like'.

I REALLY doubt there are stock SS's putting 230 to the wheels....not saying it's impossible, but I doubt there's more than maybe one that are putting 265 out at the crank....

I know that I've left quite a few SS S/C's in my rearview from rolls in my bone stock '04 RL so that might not be exactly true across the board.

when i say 230, I really mean anything 220+ . But search the CSS.net forums, there are quite a few from a lot of differnt people with sheets to prove it (if you think that sheets cant be photoshoped though ) enough to say it's not really a fluke, or people looking for good results

no offense to them or any SS owners, but how many are quite a few? with the # that are out there, and the age group they seem to attract, I could definitely see people choosing the one dyno that shows them putting 220 at the wheels stock. Seeing a dozen people choosing the best dynos, easily possible.

I dunno I just have a bit of trouble believing that they're putting out like 260 to the crank without any mods. definitely doable and possible, don't get me wrong, but I can't imagine the tuning of an 06 SS would be THAT drastically different than a RL

I didn;t say they were different, just that I personnaly havnt seen any 06' RL dynos. Im too cheap to get a baseline before I do all my work this weekend.

here are few notable dyno sheets from the css.net . Im gonna be posting them kinda slow and edditing to add more, so just wait before you say 'that's not a lot' lol
