Traded in '04

I just wanted to share a quick story. My step mom also drives a '04, or at least was. I don't know how many miles her car had, but, I'm going to guess above 30K. Anyway, she bought a new Saab 9.3 and traded her redline in on it. She only got $10,000 and a sunroof cut into her Saab. Isn't that horsepoop!!! Kbb said 13K for trade in. I think the cost of the new sunroof was going to be close to $1K but still. Her redline had a sunroof, aftermarket wheels, disk changer, and winter wheels/tires. At least they let me keep her winter wheels/tires!

nah that's actually just about right for a tradein... remember private party she only would have gotten like 12k anyways, and that's if you're lucky if it's over 30k.

any redlines over 30k miles I haven't seen go for over 12k yet, even if there are thousands of mods put into them. it's the nature of the beast :-/

I think that freak is personaly responsible for beinging down the value of these cars. He goes from board to board, making low bids, and talking about the value being low. All of this is to lower the value to the point he can get one for under $5000....

Yep, trade value on any Saturn sucks. It sucks as soon as you buy it. I think Gap insurance was created for Saturns...

Mods usually lower the resale value of a vehicle.

eh with a car like the RL.... maybe, the average car, I 100% agree, but the used RL niche is a very small market, and I think ti's a very small market that actually prefers mods? maybe

i'm glad you realized that KBB is useless.

there are still brand new 04 redlines out there and you can get them for under 15k. that dealership will probably have trouble getting even 12k for that car for that reason

Considering the hassles mods give these cars? Not a chance.

Further more, if you buy a modified car, you know it's been beat on. Dealership won't give you as much, b/c they already know they won't make as much. Depending on the mods and local laws, they might actually have to put various aspects to stock before they can even sell it.
