Launching a comp pkg

Is there an accepted 'best way' to launch the comp package IRL? I have an 06 comp, havent launched it too much, just wondering with what methods are ppl putting down the best launches? Best I've done so far is from 3 grand feathering the clutch out trying to keep it at 3 til its about all the way out.

That is about the best way you can do it. if you can get away with 3k rpm, and not break the tires free, then good. I pesonnaly launch at a little bit lower rpm, like 2kish

About 1500 - 2000 and use the throttle to get the tires hooking up. Either way the car spins at the mid & top of 1st no matter what.

That is the best way to kill your clutch. I only used that method with large turboed car, sticky tires and heavy duty clutch.

The redline has no lag therefore best launch on the SP9000 is smooth 1500 rpm takeoff then feather the throttle to prevent wheel hop and get the best grip.

i'm at 20 to 15 psi in the tires and launching at 2250 while slipping the clutch.. i am normally cutting 2.3 60's and my best was a 2.28 60' so far.. oh and my clutch is just fine and it's been thru 2 full years of launcchs at the tracck.. atleast 100 passes down the track

You are certainly hurting the clutch anytime you do this. It's only a matter of time. This goes to show that the stock clutch is pretty good. For example the way I do it, clutch should last at least 5 years @ 250 whp while your method you may need a new clutch within 3-4 years.

Now that I have put some miles on the IRL, I just pop the clutch and goose it at the same time from a standing start. If I remember correctly, I posted something simular asking for down shifting on a roll that really helped me alot. Maybe Spoon or someone else could find it.

I tried to launch it at 1500rpm and i just stall. I made quite a ruckus this morning. Im gonna keep trying a combination of throttle feathering and clutch feathering.
