Redline "Rattling"

I am sure a thread like this has already existed in the past... but I am curious to what is going on.

I just bought a new 2005 Ion Redline. When I drive it, there is a annoying rattling coming from right above the dash, in front of the sunroof right where the "click-on" lamp lights are.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how can you fix it??

Take it back to the dealer and complain about it. If there is a fix, they should know.

I don't have any rattles but I do get squeaks a lot.

My car rattles like a $15,000 econobox..oh yea, that's what it is.

There are bulletins on sunroof rattles in coupes. Ill see if any pertains to 2005 model year.

mine does that too. In fact every part of my damn car rattles now with the 2 12s in the trunk. The rear deck, the doors, all the panels back there, the sun roof cover thing, the dome lights all 3, parts of the dash, the front a pillars, all of it. 2 infinity kappa perfect 10s on a 1500 mono will do that. My old 12 were loud but DAMN these 10s hold thier own. When I have the amp to those mean ass mofos off the car has some odd rattles and creaks on a normal drive.

With all that your car is dying a slow vibration death....very painful to the car.

I had the same problem, as well as one of my mechanics who also owned a red line. We removed the map light assembly and insulated the map light lenses. We found that they would rattle aganist the housing and that it would go away if you touched the lenses while driving. If this is what is happening with yours, ordering another assembly will not fix the problem. They'll need to insulate it. Good luck

I've got the same problem. When I touch the lens the rattle goes away. Going to mention it when I drop off my RL today for the recall work.

YEP, thats the problem! What recall work are you refering to?
