Well first off, it is something the '06 can't make any use of since we do not have boost limiting from the software like the '04 & '05 RL's have. It is a mod that keeps the actuator just behind the throttle body from seeing boost so it is closed 100% of the time at WOT so the earlier cars don't have boost roll off above something like 6000 RPM. The software is setup to limit the boost to 12.5 PSI maximum on those cars so a smaller pulley can't get above that unless they do that mod so the computer no longer has control of max boost. On our '06 car's, we can have whatever boost above the factory pulley's capability (12.5 PSI) without changing anything but the pulley. I run 15.5 PSI with a 3" pulley at 920' altitude.

Someone will come in here and correct some fine points I am sure, but this should help.

Mike

You got it.

On a stock 04/05, we can reach 12.5psi before redline, so this give us an extra 10 or so HP waaaay at the very top of the range.

Good for showing off on the dyno. I'm not so sure if there's any benefit on the street.

I thought on the 04/05's this was changed with the stage kits, but I am not sure.

I'm running a 3.1 w/ cai on my 04. I'm considering doing this till I can get it tuned. You can definitely hear the wastegate opened up at above 5500 rpm's at wot. All I hear is "bleeding horsepower", it saddens me.
